Lauren Schieffer is a contemporary dance artist from Austin, Texas and currently based in the DFW area. She started dance training at the age of three and has experience in modern, contemporary, lyrical, ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop techniques. She was a Kilgore College Rangerette and Swingster, and has performed with the Texas State University Orchesis modern dance company and the Texas Woman’s University Dance Lab. She holds a M.F.A. in Dance from Texas Woman’s University and B.S. in Dance from Texas State University.
Lauren has performed at the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade, the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic, American College Dance Festival, the Nasher Sculpture Center, Elation Carnival Cruise, and the Texas Dance Educator’s Association Convention.
Lauren has taught a variety of ages and dance genres and has eleven years of experience in the dance studio context. Besides teaching at Legacy Dance Center, Lauren is a professor of dance at Richland College, and an adjudicator for Crowd Pleasers Dance. In 2014, she was a professor of dance at Texas Woman’s University. Lauren has taught choreography and master classes for studios and drill teams in the Central and North Texas areas. Her choreography has won high scores, awards, and scholarships. She thoroughly enjoys teaching dance and is excited to be on staff at Legacy Dance Center for the 2nd Year.
